Kaila is returning to her 3rd season coaching here at Tstreet Volleyball Club. She grew up in Huntington Beach, California. She was a starting outside hitter at Golden West College from 2012-2014, taking 1st in conference and making it to the semi finals for state her sophomore year. She competed on the No.1 seed for beach volleyball, also seeing state playoffs both years. She then transferred to Concordia University Irvine to continue playing beach volleyball, competing at No. 1 2015-2017. She was named captain her senior year and earned her degree in Psychology. Kaila furthered her beach volleyball career after college playing professionally representing p1440 competing in the AVP Tour and CBVA Opens. Previously, she coached at Crean Lutheran High School 2015-2019 as the Director of Beach Volleyball and the Assistant for Girl’s Varsity Indoor – leading them to the final four in CIF and second round in state 2017.
Kaila is finishing up her last year in graduate school for Counseling at Concordia University Irvine. She received her BAchelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Concordia, and is now a professional clinical counselor intern working towards state licensure with a non-profit psychotherapy organization Emmaus Road Counseling. As a former collegiate and professional volleyball athlete, she has developed a new depth of empathy for those who struggle with the pressures of performance, perfectionism, fear of failure, self-esteem, stress, time-management, anxiety, depression, and the consuming trap of comparison. Kaila enjoys working with children, adolescents, and families. She also has experience working with grief, trauma, and suicidal ideation. She has a passion for mentoring young women. Kaila firmly believes that therapy can give people the time and space that they deserve to be still, give attention to themselves, and find their path toward the client’s healing and transformation. She will be partnering with Tstreet to offer individual and group therapy for the athletes and their families at Tstreet. She is qualified to provide these psychotherapy services at a discounted rate of $50/session.

When Kaila’s not studying or coaching, she loves to spend her free time with friends and family. She also loves to go surfing, camping, and running at the beach with her pup, Cooper.
