Wil Gutierrez

Southern California native Wil Gutierrez returns for his 2nd season at Tstreet, Head Coaching 14-4s and assisting the Tweens program. Wil got his start with volleyball back in 1985, beginning as
an Outside Hitter then transitioning to Setter, playing varsity for 3 years in high school. After
graduation, he went on to play at Pasadena City College for 2 seasons before being invited to play at the
University of La Verne in ‘94. Wil had the privilege of playing for a year before a family loss led to a
significant change in direction.

In 1995, Wil enlisted in the US Army as an Infantryman with the 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg – where he
served on active duty for 3 ½ years. After serving, he moved back to California (San Diego), before relocating to Minnesota. From 2008 to 2017, Wil was working, playing/coaching volleyball, and raising his awesome daughter, Maya. In 2017, Wil made his return to California (again), and has landed in Irvine – courtesy of his company, NAMSA, where he is a Project Manager.

Since 1998, Wil has pursued his love of the game as both a player and coach:
