About US

Two-time Olympic gold medalist Troy Tanner is the Owner, Founder and Director of Tstreet Volleyball Club. Troy played on two NCAA Championship teams for Pepperdine University where he’s been inducted into the university’s Hall of Fame.  He coached Kerri Walsh/Jennings and Misty May/Treanor to an unprecedented 76-1 international record culminating in a Beijing Olympic Gold medal.  He’s coached and consulted for both the USA Men’s and Women’s National Teams as well as the Turkish National Team.  While earning a master’s degree at BYU, Tanner coached the Cougars to two NCAA titles.  As a player he’s earned countless individual honors including multiple All-American honors (Pepperdine), Rookie of the Year (AVP), Best Defense (AVP),  World’s Best Passer (’89 World Cup) and more.  For over a decade he played professionally indoor for some the world’s most respected clubs in Italy (Lazio), Croatia (Mladost) and Japan (Matsushita), as well as on the world’s beaches of the FIVB and AVP tours.

Troy’s accomplishments and experiences as a player and coach are unmatched, and he’s brought this wealth of experience to Tstreet.  Troy has surrounded himself with talented, hard-working, good people, and together we have created a volleyball club with a reputation for integrity, organization, consistency and of course, great volleyball.

For consecutive years, Tstreet VBC has been ranked as the #1 club in Southern California and top 10 nationally (ClubRankings.com).  Our elite teams/athletes consistently win more medals and earn more scholarships than any club in our region, and our introductory teams/athletes are coached and treated with the same care and respect.  There is order and consistency in all training at Tstreet.  We’re a demanding but not demeaning club, and committed athletes thrive here.

Whatever your goals are within the sport of volleyball, Tstreet has a structured pathway available. In addition to club volleyball teams, we have our Tweens program, Youth Clinics, elite and beginning sand training, summer camps and more.  All instruction at Tstreet is consistent, demanding, productive and fun.  (See “programs” on our website for definitions of all offerings.)

“ ‘Breathe, believe, and battle.’ My former coach, Troy Tanner, told us that before every match. Breathe-be in the moment. Believe-have faith that you can rise above it. Battle-you gotta be prepared to go for as long as it takes.”

– Kerri Walsh-Jennings
