How It Started
We got our name from a family oriented, volleyball, swimming and surfing beach in San Clemente, California. Troy Tanner and many of Tstreet’s original staff live near or around Tstreet Beach. The combination of power, energy, rhythm, beauty and enjoyment continually found at the ocean is the desired setting for Tstreet athletes.
To immerse serious volleyball athletes into the best possible, positive teaching environment where participants (regardless of experience) reach their maximum potential and learn to play for a team that is committed, organized and prepared to compete.
Three Reasons To Join Tstreet Volleyball Club
ONE: Two-time Olympic Gold Medal winner, Troy Tanner, is the owner of Tstreet Volleyball Club. Tanner brings his philosophy of “achieving one’s highest potential” to his club. He demands that his coaches attend regular training seminars in order to ensure Tstreet practices are consistent, productive, competitive and fun. Movement patterns and team systems are the key to our success. All Tstreet girls are taught the same patterns and systems in similar drills by mature coaches who utilize a common glossary when instructing. Since its inception in 2005, Tstreet has increased its membership and number of teams, while simultaneously improving overall SCVA and national rankings. Our training methods speak for themselves. In 2013 our 15-1’s and our 18-1’s were both ranked #1 in Southern California. All of our other age divisions ranked in SCVA’s top 10 (with the exception of our 12′s who ranked 13th). 2013 was our club’s second year to have 18’s teams, and athletes from our 18-1′s, 18-2′s and 18-3′s teams received athletic collegiate scholarships. Last season, over 40 college recruiters came to our facility to observe Tstreet girls train. These scouts ranged from colleges within the Pac 12, the Big 10, SCC, D2, NAIA and more. Our office phones and coaches cells are consistently busy with coaches wanting to recruit our girls.
TWO: Our gym is commonly referred to as the “best facility in all of club volleyball”. We practice on sprung wood floors, our courts have permanent cameras in place for players to review their technique, in-house personal and small group training is available and taught by former Olympians, collegiate coaches and local high school coaches. Parents observe practices from comfortable couches & LoveSacs in the mezzanine amphitheater (with large screen TVs). The facility and grounds are kept immaculately clean, and girls waiting for practice can do homework and socialize in a gorgeous player’s pavilion patio equipped with umbrellas, tables and wi-fi.
Three: Tstreet is acutely aware that in addition to teaching great volleyball, an essential element of club volleyball is to build and mentor young athletes. We take this responsibility seriously, and have enlisted the help of the Positive Coaching Alliance in order to ensure Tstreet coaches strive to build character and team unity as well as proper movement patterns. Finally, all girls/teams are required to participate in the creation of a “conflict resolution statement” and engage in team bonding activities, spearheaded by our “Team Building Coordinator.”
Other Important Info
Practices are modeled after Tanner’s extensive Olympic training background, and Tstreet players are taught proven as well as current movement patterns and systems. Troy works closely with all Tstreet coaches and is regularly involved in Tstreet team practices and clinics. Tstreet teams get together at least three times a week for practice and/or tournaments.
Tstreet has a permanent 15,500 sq. ft. state-of-the-art volleyball specific, training center. This means that practices are not cancelled or rescheduled due to the needs of other, 2nd and 3rd parties.
Our facility is equipped with permanent, wide-angle video cameras on two courts with software that allow teams to record and review training sessions.
Another component of Tstreet’s philosophy is sand training. Our regular outdoor practices help ball control, agility, balance and stamina with the added benefit of strengthening joints. Beach volleyball develops well-rounded players and exposes Tstreet members to sand competition, which has become a NCAA scholarship – offering sport.
This past summer was a fantastic year for Tstreet players on the beaches of Southern California. Over 60 of our girls regularly competed in beach volleyball tournaments and tallied numerous doubles as well as 4-person victories and top finishes.
Parent Viewing Section:
Tstreet also has a built in parental viewing area with comfortable seating. Parents are encouraged to watch their daughters train, or feel free to watch sports on large screen televisions.
Tstreet is located on the corner of Bake and Muirlands in the spectrum district of Irvine (just south of the El Toro “Y”).
There’s nothing like Tstreet in the club volleyball world! Everything has been designed to give Tstreet girls, teams and families the best possible club experience.
Don’t hesitate. Feedback is important, and we use your input and suggestions to improve.
